Chargers Top Plymouth In Baseball Opener

Shisler drove in five runs on two hits to lead West Noble Varsity Chargers past Plymouth 13-4 on Tuesday. In the second inning, Shisler doubled, scoring three runs. West Noble Varsity Chargers got on the board in the first inning after Taylor singled, scoring two runs. West Noble Varsity Chargers scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Steele drew a walk, scoring one run, Shisler doubled, scoring three runs, Bottles singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Plymouth scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to left field by Wolfe. Villanueva earned the win for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The reliever surrendered one hit and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking four. Manzuk took the loss for Plymouth. The pitcher went two innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking three. Button opened the game for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Shisler tossed one and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for West Noble Varsity Chargers in relief. The hurler gave up one hit, striking out three and walking two. West Noble Varsity Chargers collected 10 hits in the game. Taylor went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead West Noble Varsity Chargers in hits. Bottles collected two hits for West Noble Varsity Chargers in four at bats. West Noble Varsity Chargers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Martin, Steele, and Parks led the team with two free passes each. Wolfe drove the middle of the lineup, leading Plymouth with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Plymouth had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Hall and Cruz-Mahler led the team with two walks each. Cruz-Mahler stole two bases.
