Chargers Fall To Lakewood Park In Softball

Bats were blistered on Tuesday, but West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers couldn't quite get the job done against Lakewood Park Christian and lost 22-11. Lakewood Park Christian collected 11 hits, while West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers had 11. Lakewood Park Christian jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Kidder drew a walk, scoring one run, Nott singled, scoring one run, Morris was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run, Motz was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Lindblom doubled, scoring three runs. Lakewood Park Christian added one run in the third. Myers grounded out, making the score 12-3. Lakewood Park Christian scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, Morris doubled, scoring two runs, Johnson singled, scoring one run, and Myers doubled, scoring three runs. Kidder earned the win for Lakewood Park Christian. The hurler allowed 11 hits and 11 runs (eight earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking six. Beers took the loss for West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers. The righty went five innings, allowing 20 runs (four earned) on 10 hits, striking out six and walking six. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers tallied 11 hits in the game. Beers provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Mast led West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers with three hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Barden and Davidsen each collected multiple hits for West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers. Gow led West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers turned one double play in the game. Lakewood Park Christian tallied 11 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Nott led Lakewood Park Christian with four hits in five at bats. Morris went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Kidder led Lakewood Park Christian with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers will travel to Fort Wayne Bishop Luers for their next game on Wednesday.
