By GameChanger Media DeKalb Barons Varsity defeated West Noble Varsity Chargers 14-0 on Wednesday at TBD thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. DeKalb Barons Varsity got on the board in the top of the first inning after Drake Hall hit a solo home run to left field, Bo Minehart drew a walk, scoring one run, Malachi Webb homered to left field, scoring three runs, Nolan Sonnenberg hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Brady Vince singled, scoring one run. DeKalb Barons Varsity extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to home runs by Webb and Reagan Hess. DeKalb Barons Varsity extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to home runs by Hall and Vince. Blake Smith hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fifth for the DeKalb Barons Varsity. Vince earned the win for DeKalb Barons Varsity. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Trey Shisler went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead West Noble Varsity Chargers in hits. DeKalb Barons Varsity amassed nine hits in the game. Webb provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led DeKalb Barons Varsity with five runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Hess, Hall, Vince, and Webb each collected two hits for DeKalb Barons Varsity. Hall and Webb hit multiple home runs for DeKalb Barons Varsity. Hess and Vince each stole multiple bases for DeKalb Barons Varsity. DeKalb Barons Varsity ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.
