Chargers Fall To Eagles In NECC Baseball Tourney

West Noble Varsity Chargers Loses Pitchers Duel To Churubusco By GameChanger Media Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday, but Churubusco was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over West Noble Varsity Chargers. Trevor Steele started the game for West Noble Varsity Chargers and recorded 14 outs. West Noble Varsity Chargers was right in it until Churubusco doubled in the fifth inning. A single by Aaron Norris on the sixth pitch of the at-bat put Churubusco on the board in the bottom of the third. Trey Shisler grounded out, which helped West Noble Varsity Chargers tie the game at two in the top of the fifth. Jackson Brock earned the win for Churubusco. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three. Steele took the loss for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking four. Trevor Martin, Shisler, and Adrian Cantu each collected one hit for West Noble Varsity Chargers. Shisler led West Noble Varsity Chargers with one run batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. McKale Bottles stole two bases. Norris led Churubusco with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Churubusco had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Deryan Gordon and Anthony Nicolet led the team with two bases on balls each.
