Lady Chargers Finish 2nd In NECC Track

West Noble had an outstanding performance at the 2026 NECC Girls Track & Field Championships, fueled by conference titles in the field events, strong distance races, and excellent sprint performances throughout the night. Senior standout Gimena Aguilar helped lead the Chargers in multiple events. Aguilar finished runner-up in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.75, scoring 8 team points in a loaded sprint final that featured a new NECC record by Fairfield’s Emma Walter. Aguilar also placed 2nd in the 200 with a time of 26.90. Elyse Mead also scored for West Noble by tying for 4th place in 13.44. Aguilar also placed 4th in the high jump by clearing 5-2 to add another 5 points for the Chargers. West Noble dominated the throwing events behind senior Kayle Jordan. Jordan captured the NECC championship in the shot put with a winning throw of 40-5 and added another top-four finish in the discus with a throw of 113-0. Leah Pruitt also contributed valuable points in the shot put with a 6th place finish at 32-3. The Chargers were especially strong in the distance events. In the 1600 meters, Lanie Martin earned runner-up honors in 5:26.99 while Trinity Parson added a 4th place finish in 5:35.45, combining for 13 team points. Parson placed 2nd in the 3200 with an 11.57! West Noble also finished 3rd in the 4x800 relay as Trinity Parson, Karla Dominguez, Lynden Chordas, and Lanie Martin teamed up to run 10:07.39. In the 800 meters, Karla Dominguez placed 7th in 2:30.96 and Martin added another point with an 8th place finish in 2:33.30. West Noble also scored in the hurdles and relays. Victoria Mendoza placed 5th in the 100 hurdles in 17.93, while Jennifer Salas Gonzalez finished 5th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.01. The Chargers’ 4x100 relay team of Carolina Garcia, Elyse Mead, Anna Carrasco, and Gimena Aguilar earned 3rd place in 51.49. West Noble also received contributions in the jumps, as Elyse Mead narrowly missed scoring in the long jump with a 10th place finish and Giselle Pizana finished 11th. The Chargers showed impressive balance across every area of the meet, with senior leaders Kayle Jordan, Gimena Aguilar, Trinity Parson, and Lanie Martin delivering big performances against one of the conference’s deepest fields.
