The West Noble Chargers girls tennis team battled through a tense and competitive matchup Tuesday night, holding off a strong Whitko squad in the continuation of Saturday’s Invitational. West Noble earned an important point at #1 singles as Natalia Riegsecker continued her outstanding season with another victory for the Chargers. The match proved to be highly competitive across the board, with all four remaining positions featuring tightly contested battles. At #2 doubles, the Chargers showed tremendous resilience as the team of Lilly Stout and Mya Emmert rallied back to secure a key victory for West Noble. Whitko answered with narrow wins at #3 singles and #1 doubles, keeping the overall match outcome in doubt until the final position finished. With the match hanging in the balance, Ava DeLong stepped up in a big way for the Chargers at #2 singles. DeLong delivered a strong performance and clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 6-2 win for West Noble. With the victory, the Lady Chargers improve to 15-4 on the season as they now turn their attention to the NECC Tournament. Tournament play begins Thursday at Angola High School and will conclude Saturday morning at Fairfield High School.
