Chargers Drop NECC Baseball Game

y GameChanger Media West Noble Varsity Chargers had trouble keeping up with Garrett Railroaders in a 15-5 loss on Friday. An error put West Noble Varsity Chargers on the board in the top of the first. Garrett Railroaders flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kayden Bush that drove in two. Garrett Railroaders scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jackson Ice homered to left field, scoring three runs, Gage Pyck singled, scoring one run, Matthew Trinklein induced Aiden Sullinger to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Josh Hogle singled, scoring one run. Anthony Bontempo earned the win for Garrett Railroaders. The starter allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking none. Trinklein pitched three innings in relief for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The hurler surrendered six hits and six runs (four earned) while, striking out one and walking one. Rolando Villanueva took the loss for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The starter went two-thirds of an inning, allowing seven runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking one. West Noble Varsity Chargers amassed nine hits in the game. Trinklein, the number seven hitter for West Noble Varsity Chargers, led the way with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Trey Shisler and Trinklein each collected two hits for West Noble Varsity Chargers. West Noble Varsity Chargers stole four bases in the game. Garrett Railroaders accumulated 11 hits in the game. Ice drove the middle of the lineup, leading Garrett Railroaders with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Hogle set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Garrett Railroaders with three hits in three at bats. Harper Lee collected two hits for Garrett Railroaders in three at bats.
