West Noble battled its way to a strong 4th-place finish at the 2026 NECC Girls Tennis Tournament, highlighted by an individual championship from sophomore Natalia Riegsecker at #1 singles. Riegsecker continued her outstanding season by winning the NECC title at #1 singles to remain undefeated on the season. She opened the tournament with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lakeland’s Karlee Romer before rallying past Fairfield’s Lacy Stoltzfus in a tough semifinal battle, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. In the championship match, Riegsecker defeated Angola’s Mikaela Kolar in a marathon match 7-5, 6-4 to claim the conference championship and earn All-NECC honors. At #2 doubles, Darcy Ritchie and Aubrey Hilbish had an impressive tournament run for the Chargers. After defeating Prairie Heights in three sets during the opening round, the duo fell in the semifinals to eventual champion Westview but bounced back with a strong 7-6 (2), 6-3 victory over Fremont to capture 3rd place. Sophomore Ava DeLong also put together another solid performance at #2 singles. After a competitive first-round loss, she responded by winning two straight matches to finish 5th overall in the conference tournament. At #3 singles, Marly Shrock and Mya Emmert split the #3 singles position and came away with 1 win and 2 losses to finish 7th. West Noble’s #1 doubles team of Lilly Stout and Beverly Vizcaino earned a first-round consolation victory and ultimately finished 6th in the tournament standings. As a team, the Chargers totaled 31 points to secure 4th place in the NECC standings, finishing behind champion Westview, runner-up Fairfield, and third-place Angola. Great work ladies! The Chargers will next play in the East Noble Sectional which will start on Wednesday. The tournament draw will be Sunday night.
