Chargers Open Volleyball Season with Varsity and JV Victories The West Noble Chargers opened the 2026 volleyball season Saturday morning with a 3–1 victory over the East Noble Knights. West Noble controlled the first two sets, winning 25–10 and 25–14. After East Noble captured the third set 25–22, the Chargers responded with a dominant 25–12 victory in the fourth to finish the match. Freshman Lydia Mead enjoyed an impressive varsity debut, leading West Noble with 19 kills. Ava DeLong added seven kills, while Reagan Eash and Ella Limerick recorded three apiece. Limerick led the offense with 17 assists, and Kaylin Slone contributed 12. Defensively, senior Izzy Beers paced the Chargers with 13 digs, followed by Limerick with 12 and Mead with five. Coach Alison Mead was pleased with her team’s strong serving throughout the match. Beers led West Noble with six aces, Slone recorded five, and Mead added four. After dropping the opening set 25–20, the Chargers rallied to win the second set 25–23 and captured the deciding set 15–13 over a talented East Noble squad. Freshman Claire Shearer led West Noble with five kills, while Lauren Coy added three and Dayra Hernandez finished with two. Coy directed the offense with 20 assists. Brooklyn Barden led the defensive effort with 11 digs, followed by Allie Stabler with eight. Aliyea Stauffer and Sarai Villa each contributed five digs. Barden also recorded three aces, while Hernandez added two. The Chargers will travel to Goshen on Monday to face the RedHawks. The junior varsity match will begin at 6 pm, with the varsity contest to follow. Great start, Chargers!
