The West Noble varsity volleyball team improved to 8–1 on the season with a straight-set victory over Fremont. The Chargers controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25–14, 25–15 and 25–17. Lydia Mead led West Noble’s balanced offensive attack with 16 kills. Izzy Beers recorded eight kills, Ava DeLong added six, Elyse Mead finished with four and Reagan Eash contributed three. Ella Limerick directed the offense with 32 assists. Defensively, Beers led the Chargers with 15 digs, while Addy Burns and Darcy Ritchie collected 10 digs apiece. Beers also served three aces. Coach Alison Mead was impressed with the Chargers’ solid passing and defensive effort. She was also pleased with how many players contributed offensively. The West Noble junior varsity team also earned a straight-set victory, defeating Fremont 25–10 and 25–13 to improve to 7–1. Allie Stabler led the JV offense with seven kills, followed by Amenthis Shaffer with six and Claire Shearer with three. Lauren Coy distributed 16 assists. Dayra Hernandez recorded four aces, Brooklyn Barden added three, and Stabler and Coy served two apiece. The Chargers will host Westview on Thursday for Program Night. The seventh- and eighth-grade matches will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the West Noble Auxiliary Gym. The junior varsity and varsity matches will be played in the main gym, beginning with the JV contest at 6 p.m. Good luck, ladies, and go Chargers!
