Lady Lakers Edge Chargers With Late Goal

The West Noble girls soccer team battled until the end Thursday night but came up just short in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Lakeland. Paulette Garcia provided the offense for the Chargers, scoring both of West Noble’s goals. Carolina Garcia added an assist as West Noble continued to create opportunities throughout the match. In goal, Alessandra Torres turned in a strong performance, recording 15 saves to keep the Chargers within striking distance. West Noble had opportunities to even the score but couldn't capitalize on a couple of key chances down the stretch. “It was a tough loss with a couple of missed chances, but we fought until the end,” West Noble Head Coach Chris Macias said. “We just couldn’t finish the job. We’ll learn from it and come back stronger.” Despite the loss, the Chargers showed plenty of fight in a closely contested NECC matchup and will look to use the experience as they move forward in the season.
