West Noble picked up a pair of road victories Thursday night, with both the varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams defeating Angola. The varsity Chargers swept Angola 3-0, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-15. Elyse Mead led a balanced West Noble attack with 11 kills, followed by Lydia Mead with 8, Reagan Eash with 7 and Ella Limerick with 5. Limerick handed out 21 assists, while Kaylin Slone added 6. Defensively, Addy Burns led the Chargers with 7 digs. Izzy Beers and Elyse Mead each collected 6 digs, while Darcy Ritchie added 5. Burns also had a strong night from the service line with 4 aces. Coach Alison Mead was pleased with the all-around performance. “Solid road win. Played mentally tough against Angola’s block and big hitters. Addy had a great night defensively and serving. Setters both did a great job balancing the offense.” The West Noble JV also earned a 2-0 sweep, rolling to wins of 25-3 and 25-16. Amenthis Shaffer led the JV attack with 7 kills, Claire Shearer had 4, and Allie Stabler added 4. Lauren Coy recorded 16 assists. Shaffer and Stabler each finished with 4 digs, while Brooklyn Barden added 2. At the service line, Barden paced the Chargers with 6 aces, followed by Stabler with 3 and Shearer with 2. Both West Noble teams return to action Tuesday at Lakeland. Great job, Chargers!
