Chargers Finish Ninth at Manchester Invitational NORTH MANCHESTER — The West Noble boys cross country team earned a ninth-place finish in a strong 23-team field Saturday at the 2026 Manchester Invitational. The Chargers finished with 289 points, tying Huntington North in the team standings. West Noble claimed ninth place through the sixth-runner tiebreaker, as Layne Targgart finished ahead of Huntington North’s sixth runner. Junior Graysen Ruch led the Chargers with an outstanding performance, placing 15th overall in 16:43.5. Daniel Trinklein followed in 39th place with a time of 18:04.7, while senior Caleb Peterson crossed the finish line in 18:35.3 to place 58th. Xadrian Hofmeister was West Noble’s fourth finisher, placing 89th in 19:22.9. Braxten Kurtz completed the Chargers’ scoring five with a 94th-place time of 19:35.9. Targgart finished 96th in 19:40.9, while freshman Rigoberto Bonilla was close behind in 97th with a time of 19:41.1. Only 18.2 seconds separated West Noble’s fourth through seventh runners, demonstrating the Chargers’ depth. West Noble’s five scoring runners combined for a time of 1:32:23 and averaged 18:29. Homestead won the team championship with 29 points, followed by Fort Wayne Concordia with 90 and Wawasee with 93. Fairfield senior Evan Correll captured the individual title in 15:57.4.
