Chargers Place Fourth at Manchester Invitational The West Noble girls cross country team turned in a strong performance Saturday morning, placing fourth among 19 teams at the Manchester Invitational. The Chargers finished with 161 points, narrowly edging fifth-place Fairfield by five points. Homestead won the team championship with 34 points, followed by Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran with 50 and Huntington North with 142. Sophomore Karla Dominguez led West Noble, placing 21st overall with a time of 20:11.8. Freshman Margarita Marin followed in 31st place, crossing the finish line in 21:00.0. Junior Victoria Mendoza was close behind in 33rd place with a time of 21:11.8, while sophomore Lynden Chordas placed 37th in 21:27.0. Senior Jacqueline Silva completed the Chargers’ scoring lineup by finishing 43rd in 21:37.8. West Noble displayed excellent pack running, with its five scoring runners finishing within one minute and 26 seconds of one another. Junior Monet Bieberich placed 61st in 22:31.6, and senior Mya Emmert finished 75th in 23:11.6 to round out the varsity lineup. The Chargers recorded a combined scoring time of 1:45:29 and averaged 21:06 per runner. Their fourth-place finish came against a talented field featuring several strong programs from northeast Indiana.
