The West Noble volleyball team celebrated the program’s past while adding another victory to its impressive 2026 season Thursday night. The Chargers defeated Garrett in straight sets, 25-13, 25-18 and 25-22, at West Noble. The victory improved West Noble’s varsity record to 13-1. Elyse Mead led the Chargers’ balanced attack with 11 kills. Lydia Mead and Izzy Beers contributed six kills apiece. Ella Limerick directed the offense with 25 assists, while Kaylin Slone added six. Lydia Mead recorded a team-high 13 digs, with Addy Burns and Elyse Mead collecting 10 each. Burns, Elyse Mead and Beers each served an ace. Coach Alison Mead praised the Chargers for serving well and executing their game plan against a scrappy Garrett defense. West Noble also won the junior varsity match in three sets, 25-13, 16-25 and 15-8. Amenthis Shaffer led the JV offense with seven kills, followed by Dayra Hernandez with four. Sarai Villa and Allie Stabler added three kills each, while Lauren Coy distributed 17 assists. Shaffer contributed 11 digs and Claire Shearer finished with eight. Shaffer and Shearer each recorded an ace. The evening also included a special recognition of West Noble’s outstanding 2016 volleyball team. That squad captured the NECC regular-season championship, the NECC Tournament title and an IHSAA sectional championship. The Chargers will return to action Tuesday when they travel to NorthWood.
