LIGONIER — West Noble turned in a dominating performance on both sides of the football Friday night, racing past Central Noble 63-0 at West Noble. The Chargers wasted no time taking control, scoring 21 points in the opening quarter and adding 28 more in the second to build a commanding 49-0 halftime advantage. West Noble finished the night with nine touchdowns while keeping Central Noble off the scoreboard in all four quarters. West Noble struck just 10 seconds into the game when Xy’Mire Barnes-Bridges broke loose for a 35-yard touchdown run. Brogan Parks then scored twice in the first quarter, finding the end zone from five and two yards out to give the Chargers a 21-0 advantage. The Chargers continued to pour it on in the second quarter. Jackson Christlieb ripped off a 42-yard touchdown run, followed by Barnes-Bridges' second score of the night on a 48-yard run. The defense then got into the scoring act when Brayden Limerick intercepted a Central Noble pass and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown. Parks capped the huge first half with his third touchdown, a two-yard run with 30 seconds remaining. Parks added his fourth touchdown of the night on a 20-yard run in the third quarter. Stetson Eicher finished the scoring with a 27-yard touchdown run late in the fourth, with Zak Zayago adding the two-point conversion for the final 63-0 margin. West Noble's rushing attack was overwhelming. The Chargers piled up 398 rushing yards on 35 attempts, averaging 11.4 yards per carry and scoring eight offensive touchdowns on the ground. Barnes-Bridges led the way with 96 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries, while Christlieb added 82 yards and a score. Parks rushed for 73 yards and four touchdowns, Caden Harris added 63 yards, Brody Mast 57 and Eicher 38 yards with a touchdown. The Chargers finished with 450 yards of total offense and 19 first downs, while their defense held Central Noble to just 129 total yards and 17 rushing yards. West Noble averaged 8.7 yards per offensive play compared with 3.1 for Central Noble. West Noble's defense also forced three interceptions. Limerick had the biggest of the three with his 43-yard pick-six, while Christlieb and Ethan Yates also recorded interceptions. It was a complete performance for the Chargers, who combined an explosive rushing attack with a defense that never allowed Central Noble to establish any momentum. West Noble scored early, scored often and finished the night with an emphatic 63-0 shutout victory in front of the home crowd. The Chargers will host Fremont next week in another NECC contest.
