The West Noble boys soccer team turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday, earning a 4-0 varsity victory over East Noble on the Knights’ home field. The Chargers controlled much of the action and generated plenty of pressure throughout the match. Leo Lopez, Emmanuel Gutierrez, Angel Recendiz and Santiago Gutierrez each found the back of the net for West Noble, giving the Chargers four different goal scorers in the victory. West Noble also shared the ball effectively in the attacking end. Eduardo Liera, Emmanuel Gutierrez and Santiago Gutierrez were credited with assists as the Chargers continually created opportunities against the East Noble defense. Goalkeeper Ramiro Pedroza also had an extremely rare assist as well. While the offense produced four goals, West Noble’s defense was equally impressive. The Chargers recorded the shutout, limiting East Noble’s quality scoring opportunities and keeping the Knights off the scoreboard for the entire 80 minutes. Goalkeeper Pedroza was solid in goal with 8 saves. The Chargers are now 6-2-1 on the season and will open NECC tourney play next Tuesday by hosting Garrett at 5:30pm.
