West Noble continued its impressive run Tuesday night with a convincing 7-0 victory over Garrett in the opening round of the NECC Boys Soccer Tournament at West Noble. The Chargers wasted little time taking control, scoring three times in the opening half to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime. West Noble continued to apply pressure after the break, adding four more goals to put the match away. Leo Lopez, Christian Hernandez and Emmanuel Gutierrez each scored twice to lead a balanced West Noble attack. Angel Recendiz added another goal to complete the Chargers’ seven-goal performance. West Noble also received assists from Lopez, Emmanuel Gutierrez and Santiago Gutierrez. While the offense filled up the scoreboard, the Charger defense delivered another outstanding performance. Ramiro Pedroza recorded three saves in goal as West Noble kept Garrett off the scoreboard and earned another shutout. The victory marked the Chargers’ third consecutive shutout, following an 8-0 win over Central Noble and a 4-0 victory over East Noble. West Noble (7-2-1) now advances to the NECC Tournament semifinals and will travel to Lakeland on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff. The winner will advance to the NECC Tournament championship match.
