The West Noble volleyball teams turned in a pair of impressive performances Wednesday night, sweeping Central Noble in both varsity and junior varsity action. The varsity Chargers controlled the match from beginning to end, winning in straight sets, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-9. The victory improved West Noble’s outstanding season record to 15-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Northeast Corner Conference. Elyse Mead led a balanced West Noble attack with 16 kills, while Lydia Mead finished with eight and Izzy Beers added five. Ella Limerick directed the offense with 27 assists, and Kaylin Slone contributed nine. The Chargers were also strong defensively. Lydia Mead recorded 15 digs, Darcy Ritchie collected 13 and Addy Burns added 12. Burns and Izzy Beers each served two aces as West Noble continued to apply pressure throughout the match. The West Noble junior varsity team completed the sweep with a 25-19, 25-8 victory. Allie Stabler led the JV offense with six kills, while Amenthis Shaffer added four and Claire Shearer finished with three. Lauren Coy handed out 15 assists. Shearer served five aces, and Brooklyn Barden added three as the Chargers pulled away for a dominant second-set victory. West Noble’s varsity team will face a major test Saturday at the Indianapolis Cathedral North-South Duals. The Chargers are scheduled to take on perennial powers Indianapolis Cathedral and Silver Creek. Congratulations to the Chargers on another great night of volleyball!
