The West Noble High School cross country teams turned in several strong performances Saturday at the 2026 West Noble Invitational. The varsity girls placed third in a talented field, while the varsity boys finished eighth among 21 scoring teams. Several Chargers also established personal records. West Noble’s girls “pack attack” led to another successful morning. All five scorers finished as medalists inside the top 30 in a large field of runners. Top-20 state-ranked teams Columbia City and Bishop Dwenger took first and second, respectively. West Noble placed third with Carroll and Leo rounding out the top five teams. Karla Dominguez led the charge with an eighth-place finish in 20:16. Victoria Mendoza ran under 21 minutes for the first time in her career, placing 15th in 20:54. Lynden Chordas finished 23rd in 21:20, Maggie Marin was 29th in 21:34 and Jacky Silva placed 30th in 21:36 to complete the Chargers’ scoring five. West Noble’s 1-5 spread was an impressive 80 seconds. Monet Bieberich was the Chargers’ final varsity runner, finishing 63rd in 23:00. In the boys race, West Noble scored 228 points to finish eighth in the competitive 21-team field. Graysen Ruch led the Chargers with a sixth-place finish in 17:07.8. Daniel Trinklein and Caleb Peterson finished nearly side-by-side, placing 40th and 41st in 18:21.4 and 18:22.9. Layne Targgart placed 75th in 19:19.4, followed closely by Rigo Bonilla in 77th at 19:20.9. Xadrian Hofmeister finished in 19:31.3, while the remaining Charger finishers included Caleb Campos, Braxten Kurtz, Jose Hernandez and Andrew Kaiser. Targgart, Bonilla, Campos, Hernandez and Kaiser each recorded personal-best times in the varsity race. Jose Mendoza also established a personal record in the reserve race. In the combined reserve race, West Noble’s girls placed fourth as a team. Olivia Troxel led the Chargers in 25:23, followed by Maryana Troxel in 25:29. Jennifer Salas Gonzalez and Allison Giltner both finished in 27:07, while Ali Bloss completed the scoring in 29:01. For the West Noble boys, Jose Mendoza finished the reserve race in 25:44, while Valentine Mendoza crossed the finish line in 28:44.
