The West Noble varsity volleyball team defeated DeKalb in straight sets Tuesday, winning 25–17, 25–10 and 25–13 to improve to 17–2 on the season. Elyse Mead led the Chargers with 13 kills, followed by Ava DeLong with nine. Lydia Mead and Reagan Eash added six kills apiece. Ella Limerick recorded 26 assists, and Kaylin Slone added 12. Izzy Beers served three aces, while Addy Burns had two. Madi Sitts made an impact at the net with three kills on three attempts. The junior varsity team fell to DeKalb, 25–16 and 25–20. Amenthis Shaffer led the JV with eight kills, and Allie Stabler added five. Lauren Coy recorded 16 assists and six digs, while Brooklyn Barden and Stabler had seven digs each. Barden, Dayra Hernandez, Claire Shearer and Aliyea Stauffer each served an ace. The Chargers will host Fairfield in a huge NECC match on Tuesday. The Falcons are currently in 2nd place in NECC standings while the Chargers are undefeated. The Chargers will be raising funds for the Jana Beers Miller Memorial Fund on Thursday. There will be a silent auction as well as other opportunities to donate. Jana was a 1988 West Noble graduate who played volleyball at WN and recently lost a battle with cancer. Jana was a huge supporter of West Noble. She was also a very impactful person in our community.
