Chargers Clip Falcons To Remain On Top Of NECC

LIGONIER — West Noble continued its outstanding season Wednesday night with a big 3-0 sweep over Fairfield in an important NECC varsity volleyball matchup at West Noble. The Chargers controlled the match in three competitive sets, winning 25-17, 25-20 and 25-21. With the victory, West Noble improves to an impressive 18-2 overall and 8-0 in the NECC. Elyse Mead led the Charger attack with 19 kills and two aces, while Lydia Mead added seven kills and Ava DeLong contributed six kills and four blocks. Ella Limerick directed the offense with 29 assists while also recording 15 digs. Defensively, Addy Burns added 11 digs, while Lydia Mead and Elyse Mead each finished with 10 digs as the Chargers turned in another strong all-around performance. The evening also carried special meaning beyond volleyball as the West Noble community came together in support of the Jana Miller family. Coach Mead praised the tremendous turnout and generosity. “The community showed up for the cause in a huge way. Thank you to those who gave and supported the Jana Miller family and our team. She was an amazing person that will not be forgotten.” The Junior Varsity fell to the Falcons 2-1 in a thrilling 3 set match. West Noble now turns its attention to Saturday's Warsaw Invitational. The Chargers will open pool play at 9 a.m. against Plymouth before facing Portage at 11 a.m. Tournament play will follow. Congratulations, Chargers, on a huge NECC victory!
