BUTLER — The West Noble volleyball teams enjoyed a successful road trip Tuesday night as both the varsity and junior varsity squads swept Eastside. The varsity Chargers defeated Eastside 3-0, winning by scores of 25-14, 25-7 and 25-19 to up their record to 21-3 and 9-0 in the NECC. West Noble controlled the match from the opening set and turned in a dominant second set before finishing off the sweep in three. Elyse Mead led the Charger attack with 13 kills, while Lydia Mead added 7 kills and Izzy contributed 6. Ella Limerick directed the offense with 22 assists, while Kaylin Slone added 7 assists. Defensively, Elyse Mead recorded 8 digs, Lydia Mead added 8, and Darcy Ritchie finished with 7. West Noble also applied pressure from the service line as Lydia Mead recorded 3 aces and Ella Limerick added 2. Head coach Alison Mead praised the Chargers for their approach on the road, noting the team had “good focus as a team to play a solid road game.” The West Noble JV also earned a 2-0 sweep, defeating Eastside 25-23 and 25-20. Amenthis Shaffer led the offense with 7 kills, Sarai Villa added 4, Allie Stabler had 2, and Claire Shearer added a kill. Lauren Coy distributed 15 assists. Brooklyn Barden led the JV defense with 10 digs, followed by Lauren Coy with 8 and Aliyea Stauffer with 4. Coy also served 2 aces, while Shaffer added one. West Noble returns home Thursday against Churubusco, looking to carry the momentum from a strong night at Eastside. The JV match will start at 6pm while the varsity will follow. The Chargers will be recognizing some Impact Staff members after the Great job, Chargers!
