For the first time since 1999, West Noble is sending a semi-state champion to the IHSAA State Finals. Our volleyball program won its first-ever semi-state championship this evening, coming out of an evenly matched showdown with No. 3 Heritage with a 3-1 win. West Noble emerged from game one with a 25-22 win, then again went toe-to-toe in game two, escaping with a 25-23 win. A 6-1 lead in game three disappeared for the Chargers as Heritage would rally to make it interesting with a 25-21 game three score, and needing to dig deep, West Noble scored the final two points of the night to close out a 25-23 capper. It's the first semi-state title for West Noble in any sport since the 1999 girls cross country team claimed a trophy. The No. 6 Chargers (32-3) will take on No. 2 Tri-West Hendricks (30-6) next Saturday at 5 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. We will have much, much more on details for the contest this week. But for tonight and tomorrow - WE ARE SEMI-STATE CHAMPIONS!!!! by Mike Deak
