Chargers Fall To CN In NECC Baseball

Jordan Eash collected three hits in three at bats, but West Noble Varsity Chargers lost to Central Noble 8-4 on Monday. Eash singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning. West Noble Varsity Chargers fell despite leading 4-0 in the second. West Noble Varsity Chargers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Brooks Ruisard singled down the left field line, and Central Noble committed an error, each scoring one run. A single by Trevor Martin extended the West Noble Varsity Chargers lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning. Parker Boots hit a grand slam, which helped Central Noble tie the game at four in the bottom of the second. Central Noble jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Brody Morgan singled to left field, and Landyn Champion doubled to left field, each scoring two runs. Corbin Douglas earned the win for Central Noble. The reliever surrendered four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Trevor Steele took the loss for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The hurler went one inning, giving up four runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking one. Eash led things off on the bump for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out five and walking three. Morgan stepped on the bump first for Central Noble. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (three earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking two. Martin went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Eash stole two bases. West Noble Varsity Chargers stole four bases in the game. Central Noble accumulated nine hits in the game. Boots led Central Noble with four runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Champion led Central Noble with three hits in four at bats. Douglas collected two hits for Central Noble in two at bats. Central Noble ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game. Next up for West Noble Varsity Chargers is a game against East Noble on Monday.
