Chargers Fall To Hornets In Baseball

West Noble Varsity Chargers had trouble keeping up with Angola in a 10-2 loss on Thursday. Angola were the first to get on the board in the first when Landen Bussard singled, scoring one run. Angola extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Jaxon Ritter and Hunter Heisler. Angola added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Myles Steury hit a sacrifice fly, and Ritter singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Joe Button pitched four and one-third innings in relief for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs (zero earned) while, striking out five and walking two. Jordan Eash began the game for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and seven runs (six earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one. Bussard started the game for Angola. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Eash set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading West Noble Varsity Chargers with two hits in two at bats. Trey Shisler and Trevor Steele each drove in one run for West Noble Varsity Chargers. Angola amassed 12 hits in the game. Ritter led Angola with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day.
