Chargers Top Fremont In Baseball Classic

West Noble Varsity Chargers Walk It Off Against Fremont By GameChanger Media It came down to the wire on Saturday at Wabash High School, as West Noble Varsity Chargers grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 3-2, over Fremont. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when Jordan Eash singled, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. West Noble Varsity Chargers pitchers struck out nine, while Fremont sat down 10. Fremont were the first to get on the board in the third when Jackson Foster singled, scoring one run. West Noble Varsity Chargers took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Brooks Ruisard, and Trevor Steele. Foster singled down the right field line, which helped Fremont tie the game at two in the top of the seventh. Ruisard earned the win for West Noble Varsity Chargers. The starter gave up eight hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Colton Guthrie took the loss for Fremont. The hurler went six and one-third innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, striking out 10 and walking two. Steele, West Noble Varsity Chargers's number seven hitter, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Eash, Ruisard, and Steele each drove in one run for West Noble Varsity Chargers. Steele stole two bases. West Noble Varsity Chargers stole five bases in the game. Foster led Fremont with one run batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter Guthrie led Fremont with three hits in four at bats. Guthrie stole two bases.
