Lady Chargers Compete In Track Regionals

By Mike Deak West Noble was plenty busy at Tuesday's Warsaw Girls Track Regional, but the excitement may have to be in the form of a phone call as the Lady Chargers are currently on the outside looking in on state bids. Technically, Kayle Jordan has the best shot to get a call to the IHSAA State Finals, but a disappointing outcome in the discus had Jordan finish fourth on a technicality. Both Jordan and Warsaw's Cassie Jackson each threw 115-9, but Jackson established the distance on her second throw of the finals, where Jordan hit the mark on her third throw in the finals. Per rules, Jackson gets the advantage for establishing first, leaving Jordan settling for fourth and on the outside, needing to have been in the top three to automatically qualify for state. Jordan could also get a call for shot put, finishing fifth at 38-4.5, but again, needed to be among the three best distances in the state not earning an automatic bid, and already one ahead at Warsaw. The other hope for West Noble would be in high jump, where Lucy Martin finished fifth at 5-2, but is one inch off the qualifying height and in need of some help to make it to Bloomington next weekend. All of the running events ended for West Noble at Warsaw, where Stefany Dominguez made the finals of the 100 dash, but settled for eighth overall at 12.68. Gimena Aguilar didn't advance from the prelims of the 200 dash, finishing 11th at 26.63. The 4x100 relay of Dominguez, Aguilar, Elyse Mead and Andrea Campos were 12th at 50.96. Trinity Parson wrapped up West Noble's night with a 13th place run in the 3,200 with a time of 12:24.26. https://www.westnoble.k12.in.us/article/2238813?fbclid=IwY2xjawKkeXJleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETEwWEZocjFGcFVtUDB1VGlwAR6O6ozrES422tzD0P4hKy5pNx7iU3GtThtStBh34MAR6SGdAgyZ5Z2j4tVlhA_aem_cKcIIbtA0Q2g8at32waMpw
