The WNHS girl's cross country team utilized depth and teamwork to finish 4th overall at the Chuck Schlemmer Memorial Invite. On a day when a couple top runners struggled with illness it was the girls around them that stepped up and helped carry the team to their goal of a podium finish. Over 150 girls represented by 27 teams battled it out on our home course. The Lady Chargers were led by freshman Karla Dominguez with an impressive 5th place finish in 20:16. Senior Trinity Parson made it a great 1-2 punch by taking 12th place in 20:35. A pack led by Monet Bieberich (33rd, 21:42), Lynden Chordas (34th, 21:43), and Victoria Mendoza (40th, 21:52) rounded out the varsity scoring five. Junior Rylea Shepherd was a podium finisher in the JV race via her 7th place finish in 23:55. The West Noble boys team took home an impressive 2nd place team finish on Saturday. The Chargers were only 3 points behind the Northrop Bruins for the team title. Sophomore Graysen Ruch continued his strong season as he finished 3rd while Nathan Troxel, Daniel Trinklein and Xavier Hofmeister placed 19th, 20th and 21st respectively. Caleb Petersen was right behind with a 24th place finish to round out the scoring. Xadrian Hofmeister placed 46th and Braxten Kurtz placed 70th. Jacob Coats placed in the JV race which was good enough to earn a medal while Andrew Kaiser finished 22nd. The results are available at www.crossroadstiming.com or check out the attached PDFs.
