The 18th ranked West Noble Chargers and the 15th ranked Bethany Christian Bruins played a match for the ages on Wednesday night at West Noble in an IHSAA sectional semifinal. The Bruins took a 2-0 lead midway through the second half before the Chargers answered with 2 goals of their own in front of an large and excited West Noble crowd. The two teams then played overtime. The first 7 minutes produced no goals and the second 7 minutes looked like it would be scoreless until Bethany Christian took a corner kick with under 8 seconds left and connected on a header with just 1 second on the clock to win the contest and advance Bethany to the finals on Saturday against Leo at 2pm. It was certainly a heartbreaking ending for the Chargers, The Chargers end their season with a 13-5-1 record and a NECC regular season championship! Great season guys!
